As well, the reason that evaporator is not heavy original, because original made out of proper,refrigeration aluminum only, unlike a lot oem evaporators are mixed with copper, give it more weight, and also cause early corrosion, leads to premature leaking, due pinhole leaks. Then there is the subject of swagging. This person must be new to doing service, because no evaporator, compressor, or anything ever swagged by manufacturer, which why all qualified, licensed and experienced technicians, have a tool set in their boxes. But if its being listed as an exact replacement, then the mounting points should match fit.

All evaporators and compressors have to be manipulated, with a swagging tool or less, get the matching tubing fit, so it is tight before accepting solder. The part is used after installation, and no longer usable, or sale-able.

Not enough to return the part. I was still confident getting a usable part.

There is supposed to be a 1 year warranty on this part, but company does not honor the they state it has. There are no leaks in these evaporators when shipped, but most commonly, techs will leave a leak at one of the solder joints, because they do not get joint free any oils, and it leaves very small pinhole leak, which cause unit to lose Freon, stop cooling, about 3 months or less. I am a licensed, qualified, experienced tech of 35 years, and also had training for new techs, know all the ins outs what problems techs run into, then want to blame part, when it is them that caused problem, but they don't admit customer. Again, common sense and experience, as well being qualified licensed, there are no issues. Install went well except, none of the mounting hole line up to original and suction return port was not wedged allow heat exchange fit.

Sorry, if you just fix the leak left, and be honest with customer, problem is solved asap, not weeks trying to fight about it being part, what did, as this guy did. Have used both oem and after market parts many times the majority been OK. This product appeared well made, not as beefy heavy the oem version. In less than 3 months this evaporator got a leak it.

Exactly what this guy did, and he wanted to get a free evaporator, instead of fixing the leak left in solder joints.
